Abu Dhabi Global Market New Data Protection Regulations Are Open for Public Consultation
Abu Dhabi Global Market has announced that its new Data Protection Regulations (Regulations) is open for public consultation until December 19.
The Regulations are broadly aligned with the GDPR. The new Regulations are aligned on certain definitions, key data protection principles, lawful bases for processing, individual rights, security, the ability of the supervisory authority to approve industry-specific codes of conduct and establish a certification regime for compliant data controllers and data processors, data breach notification thresholds. The total amount of the administrative fine must not exceed USD 28 million.
